I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that English might not be your first language.

What nationality are you (if you don't mind sharing) so we can perhaps help you locate some folks that you might have a lot in common with to help you find and build the beginning friendships here in SA??? There are TONS of social groups in San Antonio from all over the world, and often they can help guide you to social activities, shared interests, and (for us STORES!!!) at a new location. Because we have adopted Asian children, we were always hooking up with the Hawaiian/Filipino social groups and our girls danced Hula, so that was another source for great resources in a new location.

Having been military, whenever we moved, we found that our immediate friends were mostly military (because of that common bond) and then we branched out from there.

Perhaps if you start with something like that, you will find it easier to get your friend base started.

I find Turkish people to be very friendly from my personal experience. If you are like the Turkish folks I know, I don't expect you to have problems making friends here.

I think there is a fairly large Turkish community here. My son attended a charter school and most of the teachers were from Turkey. Paka has given you some great resources. I think you will do fine in San Antonio!
