We just got back from there on Sunday. We had a great time. We have three kids, ages 12, 10, and 6.

We loved the river walk, and a boat tour is a must. Do it early in the day before it gets too hot or crowded. Ditto for the Alamo; get there right when it opens at 9am to avoid the lines and the heat. You could also tour the other missions. We already did Sea World on another trip, so we did not do it this time.

We stayed at a Drury Hotel and Suites on the Riverwalk, and the location was great. so was the hotel. Our kids loved the pool. We did some goofy kid things to make the kids happy like the mirror maze and some of the Guinness stuff over by the Alamo, but we all still had fun. We also ate some great food.

On the way home, we went to the natural bridge caverns. That was a lot of fun, especially for us couple of geologists.

The drive was easy; about 2.5 hours. No problem at all. One more thing- we parked our car at the hotel and walked to everything. It was nice not having to drive and having everything so close!

Drive north to New Braunfels and Gruene (about 30 miles). Enjoy Schlitterbahn (America's #1 waterpark), the river activities and food and shopping in Gruene.
