Many of you may have seen this locally - authorities confiscated 111 dogs from a lady who was located in a rural area but still inside Bexar County.

The story by AC is here, second story, dated 2/25:

MySA.com: Pets Blog: Animal Care Services

The information officer has just released a news blip that these dogs will be available for adoption on March 8 at the ACS Facility that I believe was closed on Brackenridge, which they reopened for this group. The info should be available soon.

The vast majority are highly adoptable and are looking for homes...take a look.

Support your local AC - give a dog a bone...and a home???

I'm going to lock this - this isn't the right place for discussion about the actual incident...just a heads up on a new best friend who needs a home.

Just a quick update for dog lovers...the official announcement came out in the paper today with lots of info and another link to the pictures. Most are medium sized, from what I understand. There is one female who is blind and one male that is crippled but mobile. Special dogs need homes too!

MySA.com: Pets Blog: Animal Care Services (http://blogs.mysanantonio.com/weblogs/animalcare/2008/02/rescue_100_adoption_eventmarch.html - broken link)

Just keeping everyone up to date on the happenin' in San Antonio!

This just in and hot off the press...there are a number of American Pit Bull Terriers, mixes, and several Rottweilers that will be available for adoption at this event...however, Animal Services will require you have a home visit before adopting one of these beautiful dogs.

Several of the dogs have gone into foster care while awaiting their new homes but will be ready and waiting for their families on Saturday - please support the Shelter and decrease the number of homeless animals in San Antonio!

Last post on the adoption day for the San Antonio shelter. I hope you've been thinking about this all week and have decided Saturday will be your day! We'll be back on Sunday or Monday to give an update on the event.

This is your chance to make a difference in the life of an animal, and what a small thing to do for those pets that are unwanted and unloved.

Reminding everyone - Saturday - March 8th - 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Please support your shelter!
