Has anyone here ever had a Moon Pie? I've heard about them being popular in the southern states but have never seen them in San Antonio until recently. They are a confectionary treat made of a layer of marshmallows, cookies, and an outer frosting.

If you want to try one, go to any of the Cracker Barrel Restaraunts in SA...they sell them by the box...you can try them and decide for yourself which is YOUR preference!

They have a plethora of different flavors at Bass Pro Shops off IH10...not that I care for them, but I thought it was interesting that they had more then the usual flavor.

I saw them recently in the convenience store next to Rudy's BBQ on I-10.
They're baked in Chattanooga, Tennessee which may account for them being more of a southeastern treat than a southern treat.

That's my son's favorite, too. I favor the chocolate or vanilla moon pies about equally, since the flavor is pretty much interchangeable. I've always found it curious that chocolate moon pies taste nothing like chocolate!

Moon Pies are not good unless you wash it down with an RC cola. I think there's a song about it. I've only ever had one...and an RC with it. I was in TN. It's more like a heart attack in a wrapper.
