I'll have to look the Paula Deen place up. And it may not last. Minnie Pearl had chicken restaurants years ago, but they didn't last either.Never had them around here however. I'll wait to go to the kobe place in Live Oak. I saw one day on KSAT 12 a korean place where you cook your own food. On the Travel Channel they had such a place called Char, but don't no if Char is a chain or not.

Deen's place is not open yet. When I looked at the menu, it seems kind of limited. And for dinner, they force you into a family dining thing using three entrees, costing something like $22/head.

It is open. The place has online reviews already too.

Pretty sure the Texas Land and Cattle closed. Their location by the airport is a Saltgrass now. Not sure about Macaroni Grill.

Texas Land & Cattle at IH10 & Wurzbach did indeed close last year. More recently, a temporary chain link fence was erected around the property, with a realtor's sign out front advertising availability.

As for Macaroni Grill at IH0 & Huebner, apparently it recently closed. The only area location listed on their website is the one in Selma.

Just looked at the reviews on Paula's slophouse...didn't look good.
You sure can tell the fake reviews with 5 stars and nothing but praise for the food, service and atmosphere.
I usually don't give much attention to online reviews, but even the pics of the food from their own website don't look appealing at all.
$22 bucks for mediocre food, and you cant even take a doggy bag home?...might as well go to Golden Corral.
I might try it in a few weeks, after they iron the bugs out.

Agree. Too expensive for this city, in regards to what it is and concept. I do wanna go and try it out. Where else do they have these? If there's one in Dallas for example, that one will stay open vs SA. Mark my word.
