Only in SA do people get bent about others getting excited about a new chain restaurant.

Not true. People in Austin were going crazy for In-n-Out. I remember living in Austin when Cheddar's opened, and that place has lines out the door. Suburb people are suburb people, no matter what city they live in. And many will get excited for chains they miss.

This is the truth.

It's a regional thing as well: I'm from Chicago and there are times when I miss chains like White Castle and Portillos, but not to the point of posting long, rambling missives here about them. In the end, they're just fast food joints and I've got bigger fish to fry in my life than having one just steps from my home.
