I bought a Newmark home late last year and now we have found out that Newmark has filed for chapter 11. What are the implications for current owners and what will happen to the existent guarantee in case there is a problem with the house later on?
I am somewhat worried by the fact that Newmark has not send any info or reassurances in this regard.
Anybody on the same situation or familiar with this issues? I am a foreigner and therefore not very familiar with the bankrupcy laws here.

Chapter 11 is "reorganization". It shouldn't affect your warranty.

Newmark is reorganizing, as firstclassflyer said, but they're not going away. The warranty department is usually completely different from the builder, so they should still be OK. I wouldn't worry about it.
