This isn't 1604&Culebra related really, but I went to church at the 1pm service at BRCC today, and on my way out driving to El Chapparal in Helotes there were multiple patrol cars, flares, and a professional grade camera set up in the south bound lane on Bandera beside Super Target. Does anyone know what was going on there?

Do you know the doctors name? Is he OK or not? Just making sure it's no one we know.

A San Antonio doctor was killed Sunday afternoon when an S.U.V. ran him over on Bandera Road, just inside Loop 1604. Police say the victim, Michael Sanchez, was running on the shoulder when he was hit. The driver told police he had mechanical failure; the front right tire of his vehicle locked up causing him to veer into the runner. A forensics mechanic will check out the vehicle to determine if the vehicle really did fail. Sanchez, who was a director and professor with the University Health System, died at University Hospital.

This is found onn FOX San Antonio. Its the 1st story in the middle of the page

yeah, I hate it when only one of my wheels locks up and for absolutely no reason.. and by the looks of that damage, he hit him Hard.

what a tard. I guess the fool didn't pay attention to his parents when they told him it's always best to tell the truth.

$50 says this was cell phone related. Why is it taking so long to ban them from vehicles? It's not hard to tell someone you're on the road and will call them back when you get to your destination.

.......or just don't answer it at all. I gave up my cell phone for New Year's, and what a liberating feeling! None of us are so damn important that we can't be "unavailable"--I should have done this years ago.

they do help sometimes, especially when you're too good to have a shopping list and have an awful short-term memory..

Yeah, I know all about the short-term memory problems, that's why no one ever knows what dinner will be. Not only that, I suffer from kitchenheimer's anyway, so even if spaghetti is planned, we may end up with meatloaf.

But I love saving the money not having a cell phone, and luckily all of you have one in case I need to borrow one. I'll bring my own germy wipes.
