We all know this. Some mind this and some don’t, including people on both sides of the local wealth gap coin.

Your posts on this forum typically add no value with no backup and some think that sucks.

Dallas, Austin and Houston certainly don't put up with it the way San Antonio does.

I'm talking about strictly for an urban city not rural; don't San Antonians and Texans find this unacceptable?
Those with wealth are generally in better positions to enact laws and fund lobbying to persuade public opinion why it is in everyone's best interest that the wealthy keep their wealth, even if it is at the consequence of the majority.

The man behind the curtain is better able to say and persuade, "move along, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!" Those struggling financially to make basic ends meet and/or not among the wealthy class, basically almost everyone else (the majority), are generally not in positions to do so. This does not mean there are not (or can not be) exceptions to the rule. It just means that the man behind the curtain gets a significant head start and is in a significantly advantageous position to benefit himself and those like him. He is also in the best position to convince a lot of people that "it is best this way".

Will the man behind the curtain use his power to benefit himself and the minority (those with a lot of wealth also) or will he choose to instead benefit the majority, even at the expense of himself and the minority?

Will San Antonio people chose to pay attention to the man behind the curtain? Will San Antonio people decide to open the curtain, expose him and put another person in place that will enact laws that will benefit the majority, not the minority, instead of the other way around? These are questions only time will answer.

Keep in mind, "the man behind the curtain" is not referring to any current or potential future person or party. It is a metaphorical description of anyone (any group) in power.

I am not sure if this was posted in this thread or not but where does San Antonio rank in terms of "economic segregation" among all the US cities?:
