hey everyone!

for the past 16 years, our family pets have been loyal clients at becker animal hospital. as of lately, when taking our cat in for boarding, check-ups, and flea dips, we have been noticing a change in attitude with staff as well as the doctors.

after reading many reviews, city-data forums, craigslist, and news stories, things were beginning to click with me and my experiences.

things used to never be the way they are now and just since recently, our pets had not been treated the way they used to be. although, from the beginning, we had a terrible experience with the romanian vet.

anyway, i am posting to ask for recommendations for a new vet. unfortunately, we had to put our 16 year old dog to sleep a couple of months ago however, we still have our fat cat and he needs to find a nice place to be taken care of.

we live off babcock and 410 so i'm hoping for somewhere not too far but i'm open to any and all suggestions!

thanks so much!

Town & Country on Prue Road....right off Bandera a couple miles inside loop 1604. Been using them for 6 years and have been very happy with them.

They are now open on Sundays (business must be doing well I would assume).

Just changed vets but if you are in need of a emergency one after hours, Angels of Mercy on Grissom or another place at Fredricksburg road near Babe's Hamburgers (not sure of the name). Never been to Angels so I cannot give you a review but you never know when you'll have an emergency. Unfortunately, emergencies don't make appointments or give you a heads up!
Good luck finding a great vet!

I drove by Dr Becker's old veterinary hospital on West Ave, and saw it has reopened. I think the sign said Brando Veterinary Hospital.

I would imagine a lot of Dr. Becker's old clients that have seen the light may go to this veterinarian IF he is any good. I couldn't find any information on it online, but it's worth checking out.

I took Fritzi, my cat to Brandos Animal Hospital today. She needed her annual vaccinations. The veterinarian's name is Dr. Dorothy De Fex. "Brando" is an amalgam of her children's names. Dr. De Fex was VERY nice, and even Fritzi seemed to like her. Brandos Animal Hospital is located in Dr. Becker's old office at 804 West Ave.

I think my pets have a new doctor! They have a bathing special going on now for $9.99. I will probably take my dog, Fred in for a bath tomorrow.

We've been taking our kitties to Dr. Masters at Helotes Park Animal Hospital for over 10 years. He is wonderful and so is his staff. I recommend him to everyone I know. He's just incredible, and most importantly he LOVES cats. (It's hard to find a vet who loves cats... they seem to usually be dog people.)

If you ever want a cats-only practice, try Alamo Feline Health Center. The doctors there are wonderful, and Dr. Norsworthy is one of the best feline vets in the country.

Babcock Hills is the best....it is on Prue and Babcock.
Husband, wife and their daughter are all vets there.
