Same here.

I was born on the southside, moved to the far northside, and settled in the "centralside".

Rare if you're born elsewhere, but perfectly normal if you were born here!!!

Born and raised here, just migrated from the south side to the north side.

I would suspect it is (was?) the military bases here that affect the "born and raised" factor. I know that the Air Force brought my family here. I'm sure it's the deal for many others. My father was stationed here way back before I was born (he was originally from the Aspermont area of Tx), and had a wife and children here, then later divorced her and met my mom in Austin. She hated SA and refused to come here, so we were in Japan, then Arkansas and Kansas and finally settling near Corpus Christi, while my Dad was in Korea.

So after my parents divorced my Dad came back to SA (because he liked it) to retire and then worked Civil Service. Also, his other kids were all here (my half sibs, who were all grown). I briefly lived with him for a few months when I was 6 and my mom had surgery, and I even went to school on the Southside somewhere for 2 months... but most of my childhood was spent near CC and briefly, suburbs of Houston.

I didn't end up in SA aside from visits until I was 14 and my brother was shot and my mom had to send me here to stay with my Dad so she could be in Florida with my brother who was near-death. I really liked the schools here (because they were BIG! I was living in a tiny town, not very diverse at all)... so I convinced my mom to move here after my brother recovered and she reluctantly agreed.

So, here we are. She still blames me for bringing her to the SA area... she lives in the Hill Country and avoids SA like the plague.

Born and raised here. Lived around the southeast side all of my life. If I ever leave it will be to move to some farmland outside of Floresville.

Good one!

I was born in Ohio and raised in Georgia, but I do not claim either state. I lived in SA for a year in high school before moving back to Georgia, then moved to Austin for college until husband & the Navy took us east for 35 years.

Husband wanted to retire in Austin; I wanted SA so we ended up buying between the two cities.

Home is where the heart is and my heart is definitely Texan.
