I am trying to help a girl who is not a US citizen but has been living in Texas since she was 2 years of age. She is in an unplanned pregnancy situation and her boyfriend is no help at all. She is 19 years of age and wants to keep her baby. I just moved to San Antonio 4 days ago and don't know much about this city. Does anyone know of a few maternity home options or programs in San Antonio or surrounding areas that I can research?

Thanks!!

Try contacting Seton Home. They offer living assistance and life training for teen mothers. If they can't help, I'm sure they can provide you with additional resources. *+ +* Welcome to Seton Home* + +*

It might be worthwhile to call the Archdiocese of San Antonio to see what they know about in that area. They surely have programs to help teen mothers.

Great, thanks for the information. I'll definitely call Seton. Also, I've never heard of Archdiocese but will certainly research to find out how they can help.

Again,
Thanks!

Your obviously not Catholic. A Diocese is a grouping of Catholic Churches lead by a Bishop. An Archdiocese is just a Diocese that while having it's own set of churches also provides leadership to surrounding Diocese. The Archdiocese of San Antonio is lead by Archbishop Gomez.

If that hasn't scared you off is looks like your looking for:

I doubt it is a requirement to be Catholic to participate.

From what I've learned about the CCAOSA, while it's a religious organization they really don't care too much about the religion or lack thereof of the people they help. So, please don't let not being Catholic turn your friend off from them, because they look like they have a lot of well-funded, established programs that might help.

Also look into Medina Children's Home. Medina Children's Home (http://www.medinachildrenshome.com/aboutus.htm - broken link)

They are not just a Children's Home but for Single Mothers as well.
