My family of yankees
(JOKING) will not eat the black eyed peas & greens on new years - but I MUST. Is there a place that serves them here i.e. Houston has the "Black Eyed Pea". A place where I can carry on the tradition & my silly, rebellious family can have other food?

I know what you mean. When I first moved to Tx (recoving Yankee that I was) I thought this little tradition was strange. Now, I love it, and although I'm currently living in Seattle, I'm heading to the store after work to pick up some black eyed peas and throw them in the crockpot with the hamhocks. Yumm. Can't wait!

Got the black eyed peas and also snagged the last bag of frozen collard greens.
Canned peas and frozen vegetables. Not sure how this became a tradition but it beats the pizza I'm feeding to my kid.
