I am curious. Last week, there were many responses for the "steve on steve argument" which leads me to believe that many CDers watch the local news and I was wondering where else CDers get their local news.

I listen to NPR where I sometimes hear local information besides traffic - depends on what time I am listening.

I read The Current each week and visit mysa.com probably twice a week.

Other than that, I get the majority of my news from Newsweek, Wallstreet Journal, World Focus on PBS and listening NPR.

About once a week I visit theobserver.com - Dallas' alternative newspaper.

edit - I suppose I also get news from our HOA and I am on the e-mailing lists of a few local organizations so I receive news updates that are custom to my interests.

For local news, I read the Express-News daily as well as cherry-picking stories from the RSS feeds of the 3 TV stations that have them, WOAI radio and Twitter feeds from MySA and KSAT. On weekday mornings, I listen to KTSA for local news.

I watch about 2 local newscasts a week and one national newscast. My favorite local newscast is KENS, but I occasionally sample the other two at 10PM. Unless there's breaking news, I rarely watch cable news channels.

We have subscriptions to Time, Newsweek, US News, The Economist and about half a dozen other magazines.

For national and international news, I visit news aggregators like the Drudge Report, Newsvine and Yahoo News.

Local news? I read mysa.com and the Current and hear from my neighbors. We don't really have TV (no cable), and I loathe TV news.

National/International: NYT.com, BBC News, and then some other "local" Irrawaddy.com, Bangkok Post etc. and NPR. I've gotten Newsweek for the past year, but will probably let the subscription lapse. It's ok, but I don't find it a good source of information.
