Just wondering where the best bluebonnet areas are in (and around) SA--for photo ops, drives, etc...now that it is March, I am beginning to get excited about spring and can't wait until the bluebonnets start popping up!

Any tips for must-see areas are appreciated!

I have seen the immature plants out west and northwest of the city, they will need a little more time to bloom but at least I am seeing them! When the time comes, try to head out 281 north between Blanco and Johnson City.

If you get out there, don't eat at the place in Johnson City that claims they have the world's best chicken fried steaks. At one time they did, but they are quite mediocre now....

Good luck on your flower hunt!

I agree.......stay on 281 all the way into Marble Falls, pull into the Bluebonnet Cafe parking lot, go inside, and EAT PIE. Eat dessert first, because life is uncertain ya know, and when you're done with your pie, eat another slice. Yum, and I much prefer cake to pie, unless I find myself in Marble Falls.

I love the Bluebonnet Cafe! Their pies are so good.

Going out 35 south before you get to Devine usually has lots of Bluebonnets along the highway.

I think that is a great philosophy, sapphire, and I hope you don't mind if I use it as my own
