Anyone noticed that there are not many gospel/christian radio stations in San Antonio? I wonder why not? We just got out of the military and would love if more christian radio stations could be here. I enjoy KDRY but would like more stations with Worship Music. Another need is more Gospel Plays to come to the area I have seen plays but not many Gospel.

Blessings

We've got K-LOVE on 91.3 (and if you drive farther north 106.3) but I agree. When I was in Dallas in the summer of '07 I loved the fact that there were at least three Christian stations to choose from at any given time. But, this is a testament to San Antonio's pretty crappy radio market as a whole.

I wonder what can be done to get more. I was thinking about trying to start a internet station but will have to do some research. Of course I hope that others that see this post might know of someone that can do something about it. I would love to get the word out to get more worship stations to this area !!!!

When we moved down here 3 years ago from NY, I was ecstatic to find KLOVE. Up north, the Christian radio stations were 90-95% preaching, and usually questionable preaching at that. So, needless to say, I am quite happy with KLOVE.

I really enjoy KLOVE, but I agree, there should be a Gospel alternative as well. Praise and Worship, Contemporary, and Gospel dont all have the same sound IMO.

I found this on Sirius: SIRIUS Satellite Radio - Christian Music Radio – Listen to Christian Music Station on Sirius Satellite Radio – The Message

That's what bothers me,
I much rather listen to some gospel music that I can enjoy that some priest that makes me wonder if he's actually a priest.

Check this one out,
I almost never listen to christian radio (too much preaching for me)
I listened to one for a while in my car.
the guy was talking with an atheist who said that everybody has faith and each person needs to find their own religion (something like that)
The guy from the radio told her: "This is the problem, when people's faith of God stops existing, God doesn't exist anymore"

I'll let you decide what to think about his comment.
But that's what he said.

Ugh, keep your Christ off of me. Why isn't a few stations enough?

Just keep your radio tuned to a different station, play a CD, or turn it off. Christian radio doesnt dominate the airwaves by any means....at least not in SA.

San Antonio does not sit in the Bible Belt and I would say a large number here are Catholic. For the time being, you might have to settle for gospel CD's.
