Finally, hopefully, I have the link for a new post! Appreciate any input on Converse--fair housing price, areas to avoid/look at to share with daughter who is being sent to Ft. Sam. Minimal knowledge of the area.

Converse is a little suburb of San Antonio just to the North East touching San Antonio, but still in Bexar County, with housing from $53 to $65 per square foot, here's a link to the City's Web site.

Default Open to Suggestions

You might want to look a little further out east to the Cibolo area. It will add 10 minutes to the commute to Fort Sam, but in my opinion a much better area. Better schools to keep home prices up, cheaper property taxes Guadalupe County, and nicer area.

Ditto on what Joe123456 says...better schools and home prices up with the benefit of the Gaudalupe taxes

Default Thanks!

Thanks to the folks who have taken time to reply to my request for info. We have been to the SA area, both my husband and I, and my daughter--but on a limited basis--either vacation or as part of military (reserve, so only 1 or 2 weeks) stint, but never with the aim of moving there. The debate over rent vs purchase as always there--relocation is in the plan, but decision will be made for sure after a year (current assignment in SA) whether indeed it is Texas or somewhere else.

Again, thanks to both respondents, as well as anyone else kind enough to send information.
