medium tours yes, but lets say for example if a tour like Ozzfest were to start back up, I can not see Ozzfest at sunken gardens. or Warped Tour.

Well, the Warped Tour is coming to the at&t center in July.

The Ozzfest I would assume had they not just chosen one Texas date in Dallas could have easily booked the at&t center as well.

What SA needs is a venue for small and medium sixed tours/bands. If that place can also fit big tours too, cool. But right now we need a small-medium size venue.

The gist of the story on KABB was that many of the bands that play the large venues in the state as part of a multi-act tour are now better able to be booked into San Antonio's smaller venues, thanks to the lack of competition from Verizon. Before, the local promoters avoided booking any acts on the same night as shows at Verizon.

I never liked Verizon as a venue, but I will miss it. There really is no good place to have larger, esp multi stage shows, and we will miss many tours.

I think the best thing about the VWA was the low prices on the lawn seating, sometimes as low a $5-20. I hated driving out there though, and even worse driving back.

Is NISD doing this partnership because they will have 10 high schools by next year and they need another venue for school events and graduations?

I think that the management of San Antonio should strongly consider funneling stimulus money and raising other capitol to scale Sunken Gardens to maximum capacity so that 1000's more can attend events there. It is inside the loop, which will draw more folks to the downtown area and be a big win for tourism, and the promotion of cultural preservation of our city.
