I live in Castle Hills Forest and I love this area! It is quick to get anywhere! Now they are doing construction on NW Military. I dont know why, traffic wasnt bad, but now it will be easier to go places. Our elementary school is Oak Meadow which is one of the top rated Elem. in SA. Jackson in MS (not so great area, but great reputation, Churchill is HS. We are actually selling our 4BR home now, so......if anyone is interested... But the neighborhood is very family friendly and I would recommend it to anyone looking to move.

Also, what's the (reverse commute) time to the north side of the city (outside 1604)... we don't know where we'll be working yet so we're trying to look at central locations.. and trying to consider places other than the pricy AH area.
I work downtown and it takes me 15-20 minutes to get there in the morning. I go 410W to I-10E. Now that the ramp to 410E from I10W is closed due to construction it takes me about 25-30 minutes to get home because i cut through on West Avenue and have to wait for more lights. When the ramp was open I was sometimes homein 15 minutes, usually no more than 20. I leave for work between 8 and 8:15 and am usually on the road to go home around 5:10 or 5:15.

I've always worked downtown, and at my last job would take 281 into downtown. It was still only 15-20 minutes there and back, leaving at about the sametimes (sometimes coming home a little later).

CHE is a wonderful school. You should be aware, however, that it operates on a year-round schedule, unlike every other school in NEISD. Calendar available here: http://www.neisd.net/calendars/castlehills091007.pdf

RTL - IMO, AH schools are the most "desirable" in San Antonio. They are excellent from kindergarten through 12th grade. They do not teach to the TAKS.

I believe you would be going the opposite way as far as academics go, just by switching to any other school district.

my two cents
