My wife is an ORACLE Database Administrator (DBA) and is currently looking for a job. She is ready to relocate to any city in the US. The job could be contract, contract-to-hire or full time.

Any openings out there that anyone knows about? I can email her resume if you have any job leads for DBA positions.

Thanks!

Talking Oracle dba

I have been a database administrator for many years, currently for an Oracle 11g RAC. The government is one of the largest employers in San Antonio because of the military bases here. I have worked at Brooks City Base (formerly Brooks AFB), Fort Sam Houston (Brook Army Medical Center) and now am at Randolph AFB. Lackland AFB is also in San Antonio, so if your wife is searching for jobs at the government website, USAJOBS - The Federal Government's Official Jobs Site she may wish to search for all of these bases. The job series is GS-2210 (or the NSPS equivalent YA-2210). The jobs usually list the base salary, but there is a locality pay added for this area...I think around 15%. 2010 Salary Tables and Related Information gives the salaries for different grades. In my office, Oracle DBAs start as a GS-12 and make around $70,000 per year. The cost of living in San Antonio is pretty low and there are no state taxes, so it is an okay salary for most of us with two income households. Best wishes. I was not born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could!
