Why do other bloggers in Texas bash San Antonio so much, especially those coming out of Austin. I guess Houston would be next city that gets bashed the most after SA? Is Austin, the promise land or DFW the cat's meow?

I dont see it. Texas cities bash each other all the time. I dont see one particularly taking it more than the others. Austin probably takes the most bashing, but they also take the most praise.

I wonder that people who bash San Antonio and Houston just haven't left Austin City limits since they moved here (Austin). Having lived in Houston, I like lots of things about it. You can't just drive down I10,45 or 59 and not get off and explore and say the whole place is lame. It's great if you can live in Austin just because you prefer to and can do so without being one of those people who just extol Austin with lavish praise "Oh!! It's just a blue oasis in a sea of red!" "It's like living in an island without having the rest of Texas touch you!"

Yes, each Cities residents kinda make jabs at each other. When I lived in Houston I remember we used to talk about how Dallas was the land of "fake", not laid back, have to dress to the 9's just to go grocery shopping....And Houston, where I was, was a laid back/wear pj's if you wanted to, to the store/coastal vibe, working class and only 2 areas that were a little more swanky than that (River Oaks downtown and League City where all the astronauts and their families live)...and we'd joke about Austin and how "granola and birkenstock and hippy" it was. At the time, it truly was like that and that was in the late 80's, early 90's before the Lake was filled with McMansioins and Celebrities and very wealthy people hadn't found it yet. But now that light ribbing has, at least in my opinion, taken a more mean sort of tone and I hate to say it but it seems like more people from Austin do it to other cities than vice versa.

To me it seems like Houston and Austin gets the most bashing overall, with San Antonio and Dallas behind those two. I have noticed, however, that most of the San Antonio bashing seems to come from Austinites.

San Antonio is a GREAT city & is often left forgotten in the shadows of Austin, Dallas, & Houston.

I really don't get it because SA is the second largest city in Texas after Houston.

This is true. Austin has taken the #1 spot for egotistical d-bags. Second place goes to...

I personally think San Antonio is a nice city, although the heat & humidity are a minus. But that's true of much of Texas.

San Antonio isn't all that humid, especially the further west of I-35 you go. Summer time in SA can get quite dry with 100+ degree temperatures scorching the South Texas Plains to a crisp.

Why would I bash SA? (which i like).....I spend most of my time bashing my own city (or it's leaders....& all the newcomers who want to change it.... & the "Harris County" type of uncontrolled growth going on in Austin).

Funny....one post after asking why SA gets "bashed" (it doesn't) you suggest Austin has the biggest ego.

Anybody want to talk about Beaumont?
