I ponder this very question every dang time I have to drive down that dark-ass scary road at night (which ain't often, thank goodness). You'd think with the massive population boom out there, that thing would be lit up like Dodger Stadium.

What section of 1604 are you talking about? I haven't been on NW portion of 1604 in years. This was way before all the development began. It narrowed to two lanes and had stop lights that were a nightmare during the little rush hour traffic they had. I have avoided that area since then....

The NCentral/Stone Oak area all the way to I 35 is basically freeway.... would you put traffic lights on that portion?

I'm assuming you're talking about some of the less developed areas where 1604 is still sort of a country road, but getting busier?

I hope you are referring to street lights. While I understand why there are traffic lights, (all of the accidents)---I can't understand why they didn't design them with bridges originally.
Of course they didn't know about the growth that would take place, but now they do and they still continue to install light after light. I just know that in the next years they are going to have to build bridges at Potranco, at Wiseman, at Braun and inconvenience everyone AGAIN. Why not just REALLY inconvenience us one time instead of two and three times???

I'm sure it is all about $$$.
