I'm fine with you enjoying a smoke but why does it have to be in a place where I'm eating? Enjoy your meal, head outside and smoke away...just don't clog around the door to do it. I lived in Florida when they passed a no smoking in eating establishments prop on a state-wide ballot (70% voted in favor of the ban) and was very happy to see it pass. Not trying to take away your ability to smoke but do agree with limiting where/when. I think one of the reasons that non-smokers continue to push for such bans is that the non-smoking areas in many places require passage through smoking areas or are placed side by side with no barrier to stop the smoke.

I am a smoker and I hate when someone is smoking while I am eating. I agree that smoke outside is the best thing to do. I couldn't fathom smoking inside a restaurant.

I think this is more about WHERE it is allowed for those that want to go over the fact that some people don't like it. My statement was just to say that if the things that keep going up ever pass then all public places may be non-smoking. Which would include outside of the restaurants as well as inside them.

UTSA was recently looking at banning smoking on the entire campus. It would have only been permissible to smoke inside your car with the windows up. But UTSA has a way of stalling on these proposed bans so that they never really have to vote on them before the proposals expire or the people pushing for it go away.

La Fogata allows smoking outdoors. Most of that place is outdoors it seems.
