I do understand the general sentiment here, but that purse probably contained, to her, a substantial amount of money. She made a bad decision, but c'mon, she paid with her life. And for what, so some low-rent lazy ass could have her $50? Makes me sick that she felt the need to defend her things so much....maybe she figured the cops weren't going to be any help. They haven't been instilling much confidence in people these days.

Everyone has made a dumb mistake at least several times thruout our lives. If we all look back and take stock, there very well could be decisions that might have cost us our lives but by the sheer grace of God we are still alive. Sadly, this was not the case for this young woman and my heart goes out to her loved ones. Nothing is ever worth losing your life over - almost anything can be replaced, but Saph is right - at that moment the things in her purse were of the utmost importance that she was willing to fight for them.

So please let's not blame the victim, particularly since she cannot defend herself or her decision.

I'm in no way blaming her. Just stating that jumping on the car was a pretty dumb idea.

What a sad story. Her poor family!

That Exxon has been a meeting point for hubby and me if we needed to meet up. I think we need to find another spot!

I place NO blame on the woman - as others pointed out, it was possibly every penny she had. The perp should be charged with Capital Murder and eligible for the death penalty - but for him, she's still be alive and well!!

And Snake, I hope one of YOUR loved ones never has to defend THEIR property and lose their life in the process - that was cold, dude.

The story stated she was probably military from Lackland. Maybe she thought her skils could win her purse back. Who's to say her military experience and possible past war experience did not make her jump on the guy.
The story also relates that when they catch the guy, he will be charged with capital murder. He should be.
I'm more sorry such a story has to be in San Antonio.
