I think that my atty is playing with me. He didn't do anything substantial in the last 15 months, now he said that he filed a motion in the courthouse and gave me a copy of it. But the copy does not have any proof that it was filed already in a courthouse ( stamp, date, signature etc.)
I don't want to confront him, but would like to check if he indeed did what he said he did.

It should have a date stamp as well as the filing number on the original papers filed. Only other method I know of is to personally visit the county clerk. If that's where it was filed.

I guess, that's what I have to do. I have lost faith and confidence in my lawyer

no real reason to confront or hire an another lawyer, just go downtown during lunch, check it out at the courthouse, and eat somewhere downtown. couple of hours and you're done

Yep, that's what I will do. I work Downtown, so going there during lunch should be no problem, except... finding a parking

Isn't there a way to access public records online?

Title companies(real estate, not car title company) are able to access public records. They can access liens, lawsuits as well as real estate stuff. I believe they check for judgements, etc. when you are buying/selling a house. I may have spoken too soon. Worth a try if you know someone.
