I know some people posted on the McAllister Dog Park thread but this thread should keep it succinct and easier to find!

The dog park at Hardberger park WILL be ready for the grand opening this upcoming weekend! YAY!

If you plan on going, here is more info:

Shuttles to run daily from two locations
for Hardberger Park Grand Opening
A myriad of nature activities will be among the highlights of the Phil Hardberger Park Grand Opening festivities on May 15 and 16. Because of the high volume of attendance expected for the opening weekend, there will be no public parking of vehicles inside the park on either day.
Park visitors are asked to park at Alon Shopping Center, 11503 N.W. Military Highway, or Churchill High School, 12049 Blanco Road. Free VIA shuttle service will run every 15 minutes between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Dogs are welcome on a leash and special shuttles will be available for our four-legged friends and their owners. Pets will be free to run off-leash in the new 1.8-acre dog park featuring sections for both large and small dogs.
Residents are encouraged to bring water for hydration and should wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen.
Hardberger Park, 13203 Blanco Road, will open for regular hours, 7:30 a.m. to sunset, beginning on Monday, May 17, and parking on-site will be available beginning that day.

I hope the owners actually use the small dog section when they should.

My dogs are so excited, they have been yapping about the dog park all week From the design plans I saw, it should be nicer than McAllister Dog Park, with more variety of activities. The bad news...it's supposed to rain this weekend.

this is cool... i like mcallister dog park as it offer lots of shades from the trees...
so if this one is nicer, then my dog and I will be happier as it's closer to us.

That place will be packed for the grand opening weekend! I'm impressed that the city has anticipated that and is offering shuttle service.

I think that I'll wait until next week. Hopefully it will be less crowded.

I'm happy to hear about this. This park is a lot closer to me than Mcallister. I am grateful for the dog park over at Mcallister, but there is way too much crap on the ground leading into the park. There are bags right at the parking entrance, I don't understand why people don't pick a few bags up on their way in.

Bad owner. BAD owner.

I once again think ticketing these people is a way to go.

how neat! my dog park back home had big/little dog sections. glad to see this here. our big dog likes to wrestle, and can overwhelm small dogs easily.

are any of these parks patrolled/supervised? i've never been to these dog parks so i don't know what the situation is. it looks like there's a lot of rules, but no way for them to be enforced.
