I listen to KPAC 88.3 every morning as I drive my 5 yr old niece to school. We both enjoy listening to the various symphonies, operas, and concertos on KPACs playlist. And I especially enjoy learning the history of each composer/piece. I admit, I've only recently become acquainted with 88.3 in September and already I'm a huge fan. Although I listen to other stations, I wouldn't dare play anything else on radio with niece in my vehicle. Some of the music on the other stations or their DJs, even some of the country ones, contain questionable themes/content, that I just don't feel like exposing nor explaining to a little one. Well, on second thought, there is one other music station that claims to be family freindly, I forget which one and they do a good job. More and more, I find myself leaving the radio on 88.3 even after I've dropped her off lol....Anyhoo, KPAC is holding a pledge drive until Friday. I've made my donation and figured I'd spread the good word in an effort to preserve, at least locally, classical music as a living art (or at the very least tune in and give 88.3 a try)

Thanks Y'all!!

KLOVE, 91.3 is Christian music, not classical, but they're good to listen to as well. I usually go back and forth between KLOVE and KPAC.

Love KPAC! In case I need to run an errand for a few hours, I turn it on for my dog when he stays home alone. Supposedly its relaxing for them. I sure hope it is as it is relaxing to me as well.

KPAC is really a VERY good classical station. Reminds me of WETA Washington, DC. Loved that station!

I love KPAC as well, it helps smooth the mood when dealing with SA traffic! It goes really well on those cool, clear, starry mornings when I've got the Jeep open and the sky goes on forever!

You've hit it spot on majormadmax:

And lucky you, you have a true Jeep. I have a Grand Cherokee Laredo but, oh how I look longingly at the Wranglers. lol

It's membership drive again. Please check out 88.3 next time you're driving about. I think I heard this morning that 97% of the money it takes to run station comes from our local folks. It's a good investment....

that's why I'll never understand why it's almost impossible to find a radio station where people are having a nice, friendly, interesting conversation about local or national issues. Like one of those daytime shows that are somewhat entertaining and you feel like you learned something at the end of it.
