Moving from WI to Temecula/Murrietta area? Any nursing jobs? (San Diego: 2013, houses)

Its time for a change in our lives and my family(my wife, two kids, boy7, girl10) want to head west.
Wisconsin is great for about 5months of the year and the idea of taking a walk above 25degrees in January is amazing. We live in a small town that is extremely safe, amazing schools and cheap. I know cost of living/jobs, houses are not apples to apples in comparison.
My wife is a nurse and wondering about nursing jobs in the area? We will make this move next year about this time and plan on checking it out this winter for a "in person" visit.
Looking at photos and reading threads can only help so much.
Looking for some local perspective, any help, direction, towns, schools, etc. Would be great. Thanks!!!

Sometimes the threads do have local perspective. I don't know to much about nursing jobs except that there have been a few new hospitals that have opened recently and one opening in Temecula. Temecula Valley | Temecula Valley Hospital It is scheduled to open in Summer of 2013 and will employ 500 fulltime people. There is also a hospital opening in Escondido that is much larger and is scheduled to open this year.

Schools are very good for Southern Ca in Murrieta and in Temecula. Houses are some of the most affordable in the area but there are places close to these to towns that are even cheaper if the prices are not what you are looking for. Check French Valley,and Menifee for cheaper houses but then you are a bit further away from San Diego and LA.

Local perspective, My wife, baby and I are in Temecula, moved here in 11/2009 from the beaches of San Diego and before that Western NY where we got a lot of snow. It gets hot in Summer but not to bad except for a few weeks of the year, next week will probably be the first week where we hit 100f this year in Temecula. It only happens a few weeks in the summer, other than that in mid summer you are in the 90's and then the nights cool right off. We live in the southern part of Temecula and have only used our AC overnight 1 time this year. We have used it during the day about a 10-12 times this year but by 7pm it is cool enough to open windows and the house cools down on it's own. Once it hits 77-78 inside is when we turn on the AC and like I said, it hasn't happened to much this year. I work from home so I don't have to drive to much but when we do we usually stay close to home and the traffic isn't to bad. The mall traffic is a bit busy at times but I rarely need to go to that area. Occasionally you will get some traffic around the casino if they have a big event going on. The exit ramps at times can be a pain but I heard they have plans to add another exit in Temecula and fix the 79s (Temecula Pkwy) exit.
The wineries are good and are all growing. Old town has entertainment as well. There are parks all over the place for kids and lots of sports teams etc. You can get to a beach in less than an hour, I would say 45 mins on a good day but I know some people on here will debate me on that one. We enjoy the outdoors and are always out walking, running, biking etc or sitting outside at a winery and enjoying some live music.
I remember our first Christmas here and how we didn't have much to do so we went to the beach, it was a weird feeling but I enjoyed the warm weather and calling family and telling them I was in shorts and a t-shirt.
We are happy we made the move from SD and from NY. Its a good place to raise a family and the weather is good.

Danaslyd, thanks for the info, big help and well put. To be able to head to a beach in winter and not wearing winter coat and gloves sounds nice. I live in a town on Lake Michigan and I can do to the beach in winter, but need to clear two feet of snow and to make in to beach...LOL

DO you have an opinion or anyone on Menifee? Seems cheaper, but that does not usually equal nicer.

We moved here in Murrieta 6 years ago from Neenah, Wi. We only lived in Wisconsin for 2 years, but we loved it there. Prior to Wi, we were living in LA suburb, so we kinda move every few years. Winter is really nice here, just a little chilly at night But it's just so hot in the summer! Not humid, though like in Wisconsin. And I don't know which is better, humidity or summer heat.
Of course there are nursing jobs here. I should know, I'm a nurse, too. We have 3 hospitals in Murrieta, they're.building one in Temecula, and there's another hospital in Menifee. If you drive south to San Diego, tons of hospitals there, or north to Riverside, either way, it'll take you an hour to get there in a good day, not my cup of tea.

Pluto69, thanks for info! We are on the fence because Wilmington, NC is another place we like. Still get some seasons and little closer to family. We want nothing more then to sell off the snow blower and have weather about 20degress in January.

How is the pay for nurses in the area? Its hard to find out what they are paying. With so many hospitals, not sure if saturation level has hit and too many nurses looking for work?
Any tips on schools?
