We're thinking of traveling from Orange County to Perris tomorrow to see the Orange Empire Railway Museum. Any visitors' impressions of this attraction? My kids are 8 and 5, and I want them to be engaged and interested. Are there things for kids to do, or is it mainly a thing for grown-ups?

Thanks for any input. I don't see much on their webpage besides pictures of big trains. I'm hoping there will be something interactive, or smaller trains the kids can touch, etc.

Heather

I don't know about this place, but Griffith Park is definitely kid friendly if you care to head the other direction(probably more crowded, too).

There is the signal garden where the children press the buttons to make the lights flash and the bells ring and signals move. There are two small trolleys that children can play on. The Middleton Museum has model and toy trains on display and a Thomas layout that children can play with. These are available on regular days of operation. During special events there are additional activities.

Hope to see you!
