I am new to this site, I was on a search for casein and glutton free products and stores when I stumbled here. I live in the Banning area, and just came to the realization that my child may be autistic. I was looking to change his diet with casein and glutton free foods, but don't really know where to look yet. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

kmj-007

The best thing I can think of is to check out Clark's in Loma Linda or Riverside (Clark's Nutrition and Natural Foods Markets) or check out the Loma Linda market next to the hospital. I haven't been there in about 10 years but, that's my best suggestion.

A glutton is a person who eats a lot. Gluten is a wheat product. I assume you are looking for gluten-free foods.

All fruits, vegetables, beans, meats and fish are free of casein and gluten. All processed foods labeled as 'vegan' will be casein free, since casein comes from milk. Gluten is going to be in most baked goods.

All stores have processed items that are free of casein and/or gluten, but they are scattered around the store.

Sprouts, Fresh and Easy, Trade Joes, etc usually have products that when gluten-free will have that identifier on their product label, since one of the primary draws in those stores are people looking for similar items.

Clarks is the best place I have found.* Everything gluten free is on one wall.* Whole foods is also really good.* There is one brand called "Pamela's" that doesn't use any of top eight allergens. I only have to avoid gluten, but look online for sites and books and recipes. I think you are going to find out that there are a TON of resources for you out there.

I just read an article in a magazine that probiotic foods/supplements have hepled some autistic children.
