I'd have to say without a doubt Murrieta, Temecula, Wildomar, and Lake Elsinore. I am biased because I have spent a lot of time in La Cresta (a wealthy community up in the hills of Murrieta) and have showed many beautiful properties in these areas. I think Corona, Ontario, and Upland are better situated if you were a commuter because they are not so far south. Corona has some beautiful new developments but you do pay a premium since it closer to OC.

San Barnardino is such a big county, that is like asking the best place to live in L.A. county, which direction? East I would think Redlands, south, maybe Temecula or Lake Elsinore and west Rancho C. or Upland just to mention a few places. I am not crazy over Ontario, but some love it.

I personally like Upland, Redlands, N. San Bernardino (It reminds me of Redlands/Upland...older mid century homes on large blvds.). I know that Chino Hills, Rancho Cucamonga, and North Fontana are nice...but I dislike them because of the bland suburban theme. I also like the mountain communities.

Redlands is probably the best, but keep in mind that if you aren't willing to spend millions on a home, stay away from Crafton Hills. It is the most expensive area in the Inland Empire (sorry, no link - read it in a magazine). $1-$4 million for a new home? $5-$8 Million for a Victorian? I don't know...

Oak Glen is beautiful, too. Lake Arrowhead is great, but fire danger is high.

The most expensive house on the market in Redlands is 4.8 million, followed by 2.5 million...there are about 31 homes on the market over 1 million...the average home price in Redlands is roughly 200k...Rancho Cucamonga's is roughly 350k. Redlands is nice...but it's not the most expensive area in the IE. Nor are any of its neighborhoods.
