Try Rubidoux, CA, (just next door west of Riverside). I think the home prices there are little undervalued, and land itself worth more than actual value due to beautiful hills surrounding it. And going up the pass to downtown Riverside looks like a million dollar view. It's a shame that when I drive west out of Riverside to Rubidoux on Mission Blvd., I did not find any lavish golf course or big mansions behind it, because that's how you would build a city in first place, not with mobile homes or homeless population. Rubidoux, CA deserves much better than this.

People that live in Temecula commute to SD, not LA.

The answer is: it depends.

If you're referring to the city, I've lived in Riverside for the majority of my life and there are some areas that are perfectly safe, and others that are horrendous. The areas you want to avoid are Casa Blanca (some regentrification has happened in the last decade but still relatively horrible), NW Riverside (near Van Buren and Arlington), and some pockets near UCR. Anything on Alessandro up to Mission Grove is pretty good too, as well as Hawarden Hills (kind of the more "baller" community), at least in my youth it was.

If you're referring to the county, Moreno Valley and eastward is the one you want to dodge. Mo Val has come a long way and there are a couple pockets that are decent but overall still likely the worst of the cities in Riverside County.

I would say Hemet/San Jacinto still wins the title as most-dangerous city in Riverside County.

I've been skimming this thread. I don't know squat about Riverside & I'll be going to the Mission Inn & then the Fox Theatre during the night in these 2 mos. I hope I don't have need to worry.

The only place I've gone to in Riverside thus far is the Tyler Galleria several times every 1-3 yrs during the day time.

I'm looking on Youtube too & it shows very recent 2 shootings w/i about 2 wks from each other in the DOWNTOWN area: 8/18 & 9/1 of this year.

The Mission Inn is beautiful, that area is completely safe, and no, you don't need to worry.
