Thanks! I will think about the two neighborhoods. Actually, some negative comments about RC on another forum have scared me off a little bit.... Was wondering about Diamond Bar.

IMO, you're over-thinking this.

I will repeat myself - you want to be as close as you can to school, or the traffic will drive you nuts. That address you gave in RC is perfectly safe.

(Yes, I'm grumpy today. Sorry)

Hi Ganadalara - Thanks! Yeah, you assured me that the RC address I gave was safe the other day! I guess the reason for me to feel too vulnerable to various opinions is that I have never been to these cities yet. Hopefully, my plan to go visit California next month would be able to change the picture. And, thanks for reminding me of getting closer to school and stay away from the traffic!

You can never overthink a neighborhood you're going to LIVE in. Safe is one thing, living near people you have something in common with is another....and I'd include on an intellectual level as well. Go to the neigborhoods you're considering and spend some time at a park, a supermarket, the post office, a church, etc.

I really don't think you have to worry about either area and RC is going to be less expensive plus it might be a little better commute, depending on the time of day you will be traveling. Both areas will have a nice Asian population, almost everyplace in So Califonia does.

Sorry for my late reply. Thanks to those who gave me valuable comments!
Now I am working with a realtor to narrow down our search and will go take a look at some of the properties in RC!
