We are going to Legoland in mid-July and may want to check out the water park, but with temps in the 60s and 70s, won't the water and outside the water be cold? any thoughts on that?

Yea, San Diego is not the place for a water park! It's never truly hot here. While everyone else is wearing shorts and enjoying their beaches, we are bundled up in jeans and sweatshirts under these awesome gray skies, that will last well into July. Welcome to San Diego!

It's not consistently hot in San Diego until later in the year - August, September, October are our hot months. It is usually warming up in late July and can last into December. If you come in June, you will freeze. I have seen many socked-in 4th of July holiday weekends.

... to further complicate things, Legoland is only about a mile inland from the ocean, so it takes a while for the coastal clouds (May Gray, June Gloom, whatever you want to call it) to burn off, if it ever does. That said, a trip from late July through early October is pretty sure to be around 80 at Legoland in the afternoon.

Usually after the first week or two in July it will stay warm, 75+, along the coast and with the humidity it will be warm enough for the water park. But that is under normal conditions. This has to be the coldest June I've ever exprtianced here and I'm hoping this below normal spell that has lasted 3 months now eventually ends, if not then it might be a cool summer.

Without a doubt one of the gloomiest Junes in recent years.

This is gloomy? I love the mornings for running, fresh air, not hot, and later when the sun comes out...LOVE IT!
