I am European who have been in both cities and I have to say San Diego is much, much better than Miami. And honestly, I found Miami kinda ugly and dirty especially compare to whole Southern California.

+1 person into SD!!!!! I think SD is much more attractive, with, you know, IB, La Jolla, the mountains. Miami all has their skyline

Definately SD! We have a cooler but very stable climate with no HURRICANES! haha just kidding to all you Floridians
The city is also very modern and clean with a great growth in the science industry.

I'll say San Diego. Although CSI: Miami does a great job of making Miami pleasing to the eye.
Miami does has warmer waters, however during the summer, when the heat kicks in, Califorina cold waters are ideal and appropiate.
