Hi everyone,
We will be in San Diego over the 4th for vacation, where would you suggest we go see the fireworks?

For the past couple of July 4th's, we've watched the fireworks from the flight deck of the Midway: USS Midway Aircraft Carrier | San Diego Museum | San Diego Tours

The cost is about $10 per person. You get live music, flight simulator rides, and a great closeup view of San Diego Bay fireworks. The Midway has limited seating and it sells out every year. You need to buy your tickets in early June.

There is an ecological reserve (or I think it's an ecological reserve) in the La Jolla Farms neighborhood that has nice views of fireworks.

Are the fireworks shot over the ocean? If so, as long as we're facing the ocean would we be able to see them?

Yes, you can buy tickets online. Wait a few months and it will be the headline event on Midway.org. It's a family event. Fun for all ages.

We have friends who live in Phoenix. They drive here every July to go to this event with us.

Thanks, I checked out the site and will recheck each week. Sounds like fun. We took a tour of the ship 6 years ago, the kids will like it again, if they remember.

You probably won't see anything on Midway.org till May or June. When you see it, be sure to buy tickets right away. They only sell a couple thousand tickets.

Here are a few youtube.com videos of prior events:
