With all these pseudo luxury apartments, shopping centres (yes spelled the European way!) and even movie theatres (again!), looks like "luxury" is going to be looked back upon like pegged pants, acid wash and crimped hair!

Well, the Movie Theater example was just a poorly planned mess.

But let me assure you, when this little blip in the economy (not really, but when we get back to fake normal) ends you will see all sorts of new and idiotic stuff that Ameritards will blow money on...........then cry boo-boo tears about evil banks when they lose everything and file for bankruptcy.

You can arrange candy in an eye pleasing way, but fake is fake and people will see right through it. It's sad that these guys think they're going to open another seven theaters in So Cal. If it doesn't work in Del Mar where everyone thinks they're rich, then it sure isn't gonna work in Santa Monica, Venice, etc.

Well I see right through it, maybe because the Cinepolis in Mexico cost 60 pesos ($4.50) and appeal to the middle class.

It's akin to Tacos el Gordo opening a Rancho Santa Fe stand and charging $5.95 for the adobada....oh wait! That's already happened in Hillcrest with Mama Testa, hehe.

It's all about the marketing and appeal. My initial thought is that many people cannot afford a house in SoCal, so they have the extra money to spend on daily items while renting or living with family. Now I feel it is all about looking and feeling better with costly items that doesn't have the perceived quility

All I have to say is Cinepolis better gets its act together before ArcLight Cinemas opens in UTC next year. This is a great theater chain and I'm excited they are coming to SD. It will be their first location outside of LA. Did I mention that they'll be serving alcohol with your movie?

Faux-luxury makes me feel ritzy and classy. I feel like I can be snobby and laugh at poor people when I shop at shopping "centres" spelled the european way. I also feel entitled to look at beautiful things without actually having to pay for them.

Especially at movie theatres. I like to sit back, kick up the old dogs and pretend im rich. spill my popcorn, spill my drink and have the movie theatre attendants clean up after me. AHHHHh such is the life of an ameritard lol
