Can anyone recommend any good nursery or Pre-K schools in the Carmel Valley area or the Del Mar area? I already know about the Del Mar Hills Nursery School on Mango Drive in Del Mar but if someone can recommend a few more options to select from. Our daughter will be 3 years old this year when we move to that area.

We are looking for a good nursery school or Pre-K school so she can interact with other kids after our move. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Earl

If you're looking for something out of the ordinary, there's Sanderling Waldorf School - North San Diego County, CA in southern Encinitas.

Thanks. I will take a look at that as well. Also, I'm new at the parent game and new to California...

We plan to send our children to public schools. At what grade level do the public schools start where it's free? Is it Kindergarten? Are there any Pre-K public schools?

Thanks in advance.

Starting in kindergarten it's free. I remember the Poway school district offering very reasonable preschool prices. And they're even better if you volunteer regularly: Poway Preschool Program Free preschool can be found if you are low income, I believe.
