Acquitted. And rightly so.

I didn't vote for Filner. But the more I read and hear about what he does, the more points he gets in my book: San Diego jury finds protester not guilty in chalk-vandalism case - latimes.com

Now I can understand why the Mayor wants to curb spending on the City Attorney's office. The case was stupid and a waste of money. One can only guess how many other ridiculous cases Goldsmith prosecuted that didn't make the news.

What delighted me most about it was the speed with which the jury delivered their dope-slap to Goldsmith.

YES, this is one of those cases where I agree with Mayor Filner. Like I said before, not everything he is doing is bad. Many good things like this as well.

The prosecuting attorneys are employees of Goldsmith's office, and are doing as they were told. I don't know what sort of autonomy they have to turn down a case. If they have that, and still took part in the prosecution, then I agree they should be terminated. But I suspect it's their supervisor who needs to be terminated.

Does that mean I can't call the police on the kids who use chalk to play hopscotch across the street from my house?

San Diego does have it's fair share of crazy lawsuits that make national news. Tell me you didn't think "Of course, it's in Encinitas!"...........LOL
