The CECUT is a great place to visit especially when there is an event at the explanada or concourse open area. Some other recent events were the Tijuana Book Fair and the Entijuanarte Art Festival, both of which I find very interesting. I make it a point to go to the book fair every year which has been held in other locations as well. The cultural center has been remodeled tremendously in the last 5 years. It now has two museums, a cafeteria, a book store, a cultural garden, a childrens reading area, an IMAX Dome Theatre, and a stage theater. I highly recommend a visit particularly when there is an event like this going which adds to the environment.

The CECUT was a worthwhile visit in my first trip to Mexico but it was a little boring, so better if there was some event going on.

I would say so, otherwise its kind of quiet and boring and you might find yourself walking around aimlessly, at least with an event it livens up the environment but you can still go into the museums and such. That whole round-about that CECUT is on is pretty fun. The CECUT is on one side, the Plaza Rio Mall on the other, Plaza Fiesta with the bars and restaurants is a good time on the other corner, and behind the McDonald's on the other corner is Mercado Hidalgo which has that old time Mexican Market feel to it that fun to visit.
