Hi there,

I am a life long East Coaster (Philly) and considering a move to your beautiful city at some point over the next few years. I am in my late 40s, bachelor, with 2 large friendly dogs. I love the outdoors, the beach, and a passionate runner, biker.

I am looking to live in a neighborhood/community with the following attributes:

* Close to the beach.
* Friendly people, community oriented.
* A place that isn't a condo, so that I could let my dogs out into a small yard.
* A neighborhood that isn't dominated by families with small kids, but that might be OK for a bit.
* Short ride/walkable (I know hard in SD) to a park, the beach, and or some restaurants and amenities.
* I would consider neighborhoods outside/north of the city if they provide all of the above.

My budget would be $3-$4K for rent or purchase a home $750K or less. I work from home for the most part so commuting isn't a consideration.

Any ideas, thoughts? Also, is San Diego considered an open and friendly city, the same way as Colorado is? I want to live in a city that is welcoming to newcomers so that I could meet and develop a social network quickly.

Any help is appreciated.
