So this is my first semester in San Diego, and I have few questions about housing:

1. Would I be able to meet more people at Villa Alvarado?

2. What about the apartments that are 5-15 minutes driving distance away? Would I be able to meet a lot of people still?

3. Do the apartments in walking distance from SDSU have a constant party atmosphere? Or will I be able to do my homework still..

Ok thanks!

It really depends on what you are looking for. You will meet tons of people in the dorms. Many of the first-year students tend to live in the dorms for a little while and then move out a year or so after. SDSU doesn't really have a central place for students to congregate outside of campus.

As for a constant party atmosphere, you have to be careful. Generally the larger complexes and the houses tend to be noisier. If you want a quieter area but still close to the university, go a little more south or east of SDSU and things quiet down.
