I wanted to see the blooms in the Santa Clarita Valley when I was still living in LA, but, alas, didn't get to see them. I have no doubt they would have been gorgeous in A-B, too. I could spend a week in A-B and just hike, hike, and photograph (while having plenty of water on me and my car always close by, of course).
When you go to Santa Clarita, be sure to check out Vasquez rocks. I used to go often when I lived in LA. They filmed a lot of Star Trek episodes there.

If you havn't hiked in my area, you are reallly missing out. Try Laguna Canyon, Crystal Cove, and Laguna Beach. I just never get tired of it. I am going to Torrey Pines when I get a day off this week though...

I lived in Santa Clarita. And I went to Vasquez Rocks. Spectacular!

I have hiked in Crystal Cove, but not Laguna Canyon or Laguna Beach. I was focused more on work and school in OC, so I didn't get to enjoy the outdoor opportunities as much as I would have liked to. Now...I have a chance.
