This is more of a rant than anything else.

Either they are mansions priced at $1.5 and above

Or they are incredibly ugly and have weird lots.

The inventory is small and the new ones that come on are overpriced because the sellers are unrealistic.

Getting it off my chest. Thanks for listening.

It's about location. The lots are odd because of the topography.

It Cost to live where old money is in San Diego. I have 2 friends of the family that live in Mission Hill and both inherited their homes. One bought out his greedy siblings during the crash for penny's, and now has about 750k in equity. One of them has blown though her money and is now trying to sue to get her portion of the house back.

I have a friend that lives in Mission Hills, and I absolutely love her house. I have been scoping out the houses for sale in that neighborhood for a while, and it is slim pickings. Doesn't seem that people move out of that area once they are in it.

Lots of older retired people who have lived there for years and have Prop 13 property taxes. Why move when you have a million dollar home and pay a couple of grand per year to the tax man.

Mission Hills is a very picturesque and desirable neighborhood full of charm. I know a couple of people who live there, an therapist friend and her artist husband and a couple who inherited their home from the father of one of them. I would live there in a heartbeat if I could afford it.
