I know, a rather odd request given the current state of things but we now have a recycled water system based on shower/washing machine run off. Well, since we can't water our garden only the plants with it we have found we produce more water than we are recycling. We have decided we can support a small grass area in the back that would be completely reliant on the recycled water. We ripped out all of our lawns two years ago so it has been a blank landscape while we decided what to do.

That being stated, we know home depot sells small amounts but after two attempt of competing with laborers at 6 am we'd like to find another outlet that sells small amounts of sod. Anyone? Not really wanting to go the seed route this time.

Walter Anderson Nursery. They may have sod, but even if they don't, they can order just about anything you want and give you good advice about which grass options would work best.

You can order sod from Home Depot, Lowes, and companies that sell sod directly. They'll also give you advice about the different types of sod, and what would be good for you.

Have you tried just seeding the area? We seeded a small area a few years ago in September. It only took a few months and we were mowing it.

You have to go to the bigger Home Depots.
Sports Arena, El Cajon, Lemon Grove usually have sod all day long.
We were dealing with the same Problem. We would get to Home Depot /Lowes at 6:15am and all the Sod would be gone
A good friend from High School works for Home Depot in Lemon Grove. He told me to go talk to the manager of the Garden Department as he/she can override the, "no saving Sod policy".
I promised him i would come by the day, and true to his word he saved 15 pieces of Sod for us.

Thanks all. I'll try Sports Arena and see what they got. Easier to call first. Seeding is not an option, the cats think it's a giant cat box.

Our patch isn't big enough to have delivered without a big fee.
