I am currently in dental assistant school and i just wanted to know what the average pay for a dental assistant is staring off, and then how much with some experience. Also difference pay bewteen RDA and just dental assistant. Are the starting pays more in la jolla and more north compared to southbay (chula vista). Is it worth trying to go for Expanded Function after achieveing RDA?

I don't know the salary range, but my dental assistant bought her own home, & after her marriage ended, (no child support was paid) supported her son & even paid for private school...that's amazing to me, in SD County.

Where I live now, my dental assistant supports 3 kid, a non-working spouse, is a homeowner & takes his family on fabulous vacations.

I woulld say you picked a good profession!
