Anything I missed?

I know much of this has to do with the team mates around him and in the batting order. Still, I'd take two of the above list. He came close to some of that.

Maybe the GM needs to bring more talent from the farm system and/or from within the MLB.
I'm not going to Harp on Manny here because, it's not even close to being his fault. I've been doing some Homework on Tatis jr.
Tatis Jr Missed 78 Games this season, and was still 2nd on the list in Errors for a short stop. The kid has been injury Prone since he was 16. I say trade him now while the Iron is hot.

He started hot with the bat. Short stop is a difficult position. I can understand your thinking.

Next year is going to be a make or break year for the GM. I can see him keeping Tatis Jr. and bringing some up from the farm. It is win now at all cost vs. long term.

We've been told for at least a decade that the Padres were in a re-building phase and the following year would be competitive. We've also been told that we have the best farm system in baseball. None of this talk ever seems to come to fruition.

I think its time for ownership to realize and admit that the Padre players are not good enough to compete, the farm system is average at best, and the general manager is not the wily trader and talent hound he thinks he is.
