As long as it isn't Newsom.

He's a good dude. I would vote for him, but he does not stand a chance. No matter what happens, Californians continue to kick themselves in the nuts.

Now lets see how this thread devolves....

Except for spearheading the beach booze ban I've always liked Faulconer. He needs to switch parties though if he wants a chance in hell. Too many people in this state will automatically not even consider a candidate just because an "R" is next to their name.

Sorta like how Mainschein figured out how to remain in office? I guess it worked, right? That's how silly partisan politics are. As for Faulconer, he's nothing special -not horrible but I can't get excited over him either. We've definitely had worse mayors. At least he hasn't licked anyone's face.

I've learned to appreciate this over the years, it keeps homeless winos and frat boys from flocking to the boardwalk/beaches to get drunk. I remember how wild it would get during the PB block party days. Maybe I am just getting old and lame...lol
Also, I've had many a beer on the beach quietly since then and the lifeguards don't seem to mind unless your getting rowdy, I've seen others do it to. With so many different beer can styles these days, its hard to tell what's a soft drink and what's not.

I can get excited about anyone that’s not Newsom. I was driving behind someone yesterday with a bumper sticker that said “Anyone but Trump 2020”. That sums it up for Newsom too.

Correct me if wrong, but dining-out Newsom is performing in the top 15 or less in the states covid performance. Falconer seems to have performed good enough for SD; let's see if Gloria is better same or worse. But Falconer is a trumper nonetheless - voted twice for the corrupt treacherous con man trump, got photo in the oval, but keeps his support on the DL but it's there

100%. I'm not a huge fan of Faulconer, he's just ok. But anyone is better than Newsom.
