Never should have been allowed to "live on the sidewalks" in the first place.

This was the rule under Kevin Falcouner, not sure why it changed. The city and other charities even had day lockers where the homeless could store their belongings (including tent) for the day, I toured one of them run by a not-for-profit.

The rule was the sidewalks had to be clear for the day but they could camp out at night so the sidewalks could be cleaned.

Even if they actively enforce it, we'll still be seeing it outside the boundary of city of SD. The fact that the county declared this a crisis should alert those here who are in denial of the problem, that it's indeed a problem.

Use this temporary clearing wisely by embedding sharp rocks into the sidewalks (as the community brilliantly did at Imperial Ave., under CA-5), spikes or install automatic sprinklers at each illegal and highly dangerous encampment site during the daytime to make it permanent.
