We used to have a jet ski so that was a huge thing we'd do in the summer, ride around Fiesta Island. Plus we always had zoo and Sea World memberships and they kept late hours in the summer. I always loved to go to both places for their summer nights!
No, summer isn't all year, unless you are from a really cold climate!

Going to the beach! We love setting up our canopy, bringing a grill, boogieboards and lots of sand toys for the kids. Last week while I was in Seattle my dh took his kayak to La Jolla shores and told me the water was like glass, he could count the garibaldis and he saw a bunch of baby sea lion pups in the sea caves.

We also like the Zoo, Sea World, going to all the local pools and parks. Summertime outdoor concerts. Camping and outdoor movies. Cooking and eating outside with friends. Going for long drives along the backcountry roads or along the ocean from O.C. down to San Diego.

We also love to take the ferry to Catalina, stay a couple days, drive golf carts everywhere on the island, snorkel at Lovers Cove, kayaking.

We sometimes go waterskiing with friends in Coronado. We also like to drive to Coronado and ride our bikes along the bike paths either on the strand (about 7 miles) or along ferry landing, under the Coronado bridge and along the golf course.

For me it's pretty simple, barbecuing outside with some oldies but goodies playing on the stereo, and just relaxing and enjoying the day. Also going to see the Padres play is another favorite summertime activity of mine, and yes even when they are bad like this season.

A walk from South Mission beach, walking through the water at the shore's edge, to Crystal Pier and back, followed by a slice of New York style pizza at Rosario's in Mission Beach. Come to think of it, it puts a smile on my face any day of the year I make the trek.

NJ here,

Like Suzer, everyday is a beautiful day in California...
I wore shorts and flip flops every day! We grilled every week all year and embraced the weather daily...

The San Onefre Beach was our favorite (Marine side, the state beach is along side)... Hubby did night fishing off the Oceanside pier alot...

Cruising the coastline and sitting at the San Diego harbor/pier were favorites too...

Sea Port Village is nice to walk through and sit looking over to the Coronado Bridge at early eve...
